As Muriel is portrayed as an innocent and unknowing young adult, we are also given the aspect that she is very self-centred with decisions vested in her. Alike with Jay Gatsby, he was perhaps the most pristine gentleman of the entire situate of people that surrounded him, but his unforgiving passion and desires for daisy finally overcome his well-mannered personality.
